Blackburn LSP
Local Strategic Partnership
Blackburn with Darwen's Strategic Partnership (LSP) is the Borough's largest and most influential partnership body. It's an overarching partnership body for the whole Borough. It's made up of representatives from the Council, other public sector organisations (like the health and police services), business, and the voluntary, community and faith sectors.
The aim of the LSP is to 'bend' the mainstream funding provided by those different organisations and services and to present a co-ordinated approach. Its particular focus is to promote the achievement of the Local Area Agreement’s four key priorities for 2008-2011; namely:-
- Improving the local economy
- Building stronger, safer communities
- Improving educational achievement
- Improving health and well being.
It is also more widely responsible for promoting the Borough’s Sustainable Community Strategy. This includes not only the Local Area Agreement priorities, but also those identified in the Community Plan’s 2020 Vision and the Area Plans which are developed annually for each of the five neighbourhoods in Blackburn with Darwen.
The LSP's constitution, which incorporates its structure chart, describes its values and principles, membership and governance arrangements - download the constitution here >>>
